Overview:

  • Data center and colocation provider Equinix has acquired $3.6 billion in assets from Verizon.
  • The assets consist of 24 data center sites in 15 different metropolitan areas in the United States and Latin America.
  • The divestment comes amid Verizon's ongoing and highly publicised acquisition of Yahoo! internet properties.
  • Evercore and JPMorgan Chase served as financial advisers for Equinix while Citigroup and Guggenheim Securities acted as financial advisers for Verizon.
