Deutsche Asset Management acquisition of a 50% stake in Akiem

Overview:

• Deutsche Asset Management, the management arm of Deutsche Bank, has acquired the a 50% stake in Akiem, the locomotive leasing subsidiary of SNCF, from holding company Ermewa Group for an undisclosed fee.
• The transaction was announced in February 2016, and closed in June of the same year.
• The acquisition sees Deutsche Asset Management enter into a joint venture with Erwema, as they look to increase the growth of Akiem in the European market.
