AliExpress Russia joint venture

Overview:

• China's e-commerce group Alibaba, Russian internet company Mail.ru, Russian mobile operator Megafon and the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF), the nation's sovereign wealth fund, have agreed to establish a joint venture known as AliExpress Russia.
• The venture aims to prioritise the building of e-commerce services to serve consumers and businesses in Russia and its neighbouring countries. The joint effort is estimated to have a value of $2 billion.
