Overview:

  • The Tram de Liège PPP is a project of the Walloon transport agency Walloon Transport Operator (OTW), for the design, construction, financing and maintenance of a tram line in Liège.
  • Financial close on a €430 million financing to fund the development was reached in January 2019.
  • The project is being developed by the Tram’Ardent consortium, which consists of DIF Infrastructure V (80%), French civil construction firm Colas (10%) and Spanish rolling stock manufacturer Construcciones y Auxiliar de Ferrocarriles (10%).
  • The project includes approximately 12km of rail track, 21 stations, 20 trams, a maintenance depot, two park-and-ride facilities and general improvements to the surrounding urban area.
  • Construction on the project will start in 2019, with completion expected in the second half of 2022.
