Trimble $1.2 billion acquisition of Viewpoint

Overview:

• Construction technology company Trimble has acquired construction software producer Viewpoint in a $1.2 billion deal. 
• Viewpoint was sold by private equity firm Bain Capital. 
• Trimble was provided committed acquisition financing from JPMorgan Chase, Goldman Sachs and Bank of America. 
• Goldman Sachs also acted as financial adviser for Trimble. 
• The transaction is expected to close in the third quarter of 2018.
