Overview:

  • Campbell Soup has acquired snack maker Snyder's-Lance in a $4.87 billion deal. 
  • This is the largest deal in Campbell's history. 
  • Financing for the deal came from Campbell's $5.3 billion notes offering.
  • The offering consisted of $900 million in floating rate notes, $650 million 3.3% notes, $1.2 billion 3.65% notes, $850 million 3.95% notes, $1 billion 4.15% notes and $700 million 4.8% notes.
  • Credit Suisse was lead financial adviser for Campbell and Goldman Sachs was lead financial counsel for Snyder's-Lance.
  • The transaction is expected to close in the second quarter of 2018.
