MeaSat Satellite Systems restructuring

Overview:

• MeaSat Satellite Systems has undertaken a restructuring.
• The transaction involved a bid to acquire the Jabiru Satellite being developed by NewSat, which remained under construction at Lockheed Martin, comprising the acquisition of the build contract with Lockheed Martin, and the spacecraft launch contract with Arianespace, together with associated Teleport operations located in Perth and Adelaide Australia.
• In the US Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection was also applied for to protect these contracts.
