“Russin & Vecchi is a very reputable name in Vietnam,” says a peer. The firm is known for its practice across the board and excels in sophisticated cross-border transactions. Key partners such as managing partner Nguyen Huu Minh Nhut and name partner Sesto Vecchi maintain a strong list of clients comprising both international law firms and multinational corporates in the M&A area.
 
On the projects side, the firm primarily acts for project sponsors in high-end real estate projects. In the capital markets, Nguyen is active in the equity capital markets and also advises international banks on derivatives trading issues.
 
Deals 
The firm has been involved in several high-profile transactions this year. Managing partner Nguyen Huu Minh Nhut acted for Fortis Healthcare in its acquisition of a 65% stake in Hoan My Corporation, which is one of the largest private hospital chains in Vietnam. The firm also represented telecommunications company VMG Media JSC in a sale of shares to a strategic investor, Japanese telecommunications company NTT DoCoMo. On the project finance side, the firm frequently advises project sponsors on the financing of hotel and residential real estate projects.
 
Nguyen and partner Mai Thi Minh Hang also maintain an active capital markets regulatory practice and frequently advise high-profile financial institutions on regulatory issues. The firm is also representing several financial institutions in the trading of derivatives in the form of the ISDA Master Agreement and Global Market Purchase Agreement. [hide]
