Mafalda Barreto leads the banking team at Teixeira, which has secured a number of notable bank side mandates in the last year.
With work in the troubled domestic market at a relative low level, a number of firms are looking to old colonial outposts Mozambique and Angola for new mandates. In one Angolan linked deal last year practice head Barreto acted alongside its Angolan associate Legal Group Africa for Banco BAI on a $600 million finance facility structured in the country.
Elsewhere Barreto was again involved acting for HSH Nordbank on a supplemental agreement relating to a loan and guarantee facility for the acquisition of six new shipping vessels.
